Ranjna Patel enters New Zealand Business Hall of Fame
Ranjna Patel 2 v2

We are proud of Ranjna Patel, Total Healthcare executive trustee and Tāmaki Health co-founder, who has entered the New Zealand Business Hall of Fame.

On her appointment to the title, Ranjna was described as "a distinguished entrepreneur and philanthropist," and that "her leadership in healthcare and social welfare has made her a pivotal figure in fostering community wellbeing and equity."

Ranjna, alongside her husband Dr Kanti Patel, laid the foundation for East Tamaki Healthcare, now known as Tāmaki Health, in 1977. Beginning as a humble GP practice in Ōtara, South Auckland, they've grown into the country's largest privately owned healthcare provider, boasting nearly 50 clinics and serving over 300,000 patients.

Her notable contributions include founding Gandhi Nivas, an innovative family harm prevention programme delivering significant social returns. Awarded the QSM and ONZM for her charitable efforts, Ranjna also serves as a Trustee for the Swaminarayan Temple, promoting extensive community and social services. Her leadership in healthcare and social welfare has made her a pivotal figure in fostering community wellbeing and equity
